Viclaro Atlas Research · October 2026
How concentrated is AI recommendation in NYC?
In some categories, one firm gets named in a supermajority of AI responses. In others, no firm clears 10%. This is a live measurement across 12 NYC professional-services verticals — updated automatically as new Atlas snapshots land.
What "concentration" means here
Top-1 reach — the share of AI responses that name the #1-ranked firm in the vertical. If Top-1 is 60%, one firm is named in more than half of AI answers to buyer questions in that category.
Top-3 reach — the percentage of eligible responses naming at least one of the three top-ranked firms. A response naming two leaders is counted once, preventing double-counting.
Top-10 reach — the percentage naming at least one of the top ten, again counted once per response.
Share is measured within the latest weekly snapshot per vertical, aggregated across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity. Firms include both verified Google Places records and unverified AI-cited entities (marked Unv in the table).

Live table — regenerated on every request from the most recent snapshot per vertical. Underlying methodology: viclaro.app/leaderboards/methodology.
Why this matters
A high Top-1 category is a channel owned by one firm. If you're a competitor in that vertical, AI recommendation is a losing surface until you understand and change the citation pattern that named the leader. A low Top-1 category is winnable — no incumbent has locked the surface.
The same measurement changes month over month as content, citations, and directory structure shift underneath the models. This is why Atlas archives every snapshot — the movement across time is where the interesting signal lives.
Get a diagnosis for your firm
A Viclaro audit takes this measurement approach — same prompts, same providers, real buyer scenarios — and applies it to your firm specifically. You see which prompts you're cited on, which you're missing, and what content pattern separates you from the firms that get named.
